Our SQL Fundamentals Live Virtual course will be taken by one of our experienced SQL Trainers live over WebEx (video conferencing software). WebEx will be used for the presentation of the theory part of the course. You will then access a remote desktop to do the practical SQL exercises. It will have all the software you need, and it is super easy to access. While you are working on your SQL exercises through the remote desktop, you will also access a Talky Screensharing Platform which allows your trainer to communicate with you and offer you one on one support when needed.

We offer you a live demo before you begin your 2-day course to set you up with all the software you need during your course. You will then complete your course online in the comfort of your own home.

We know you're going to love your course with us, just in case you don't you will get a full refund. Just let us know on the first day of your course and we'll sort out the rest.

The money back guarantee is only valid for classroom based courses but if you are interested in a Live Virtual course we can offer you a free demo so you get a look and feel of the course and answer any queries you may have.

Our SQL Fundamentals Course runs over two days. 9:30am to 4pm.

Our tutors are always very experienced SQL developers, that are also typically strong in C# or Java Programming. We only use tutors with extensive industry experience, so don't worry you're in safe hands.

Yes absolutely, you will get an attendance certificate upon completion of the course upon request.

No, we provide all laptops, software and training materials. You don't need to worry about bringing any equipment. We will have the latest version of MS SQL Server installed on our laptops already. You will also get a complete training manual in order to make notes as you go through the various examples in class.

We use the latest version of MS SQL Server (14.0 for SQL Server 2017). Don't worry if you use an older version of SQL server in work, the practice of writing code and the ideas are exactly the same. There will only be minor changes between versions.

Yes, absolutely. Many people on the course use different variations of a SQL client (the desktop software you use to access the database). The differences in terms of syntax (how the code is written) are minimal. The concepts and ideas we teach on the course will be applicable to the vast majority of the most common desktop clients.

No you don't, although we recommend that you are proficient in using basic desktop software and Microsoft Office Packages on a daily basis. Please feel free to call us for a consultation if you are unsure whether the course is suitable for you or not.

SQL stands for Structured Query Language. SQL is the language used to communicate with a relational database. SQL is the standard language for relational database management systems. SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as to update database records, or retrieve data from a database. For example, when you update your name and address on a website, the code in the background is SQL and it sends a command to update your details with the new information. There are several popular relational database management systems, such as Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access.

Yes, certainly. There are small differences in syntax between these applications and MS SQL Server, but fundamentally the language is the same, especially at a beginners level. The concepts and SQL code are easily transferable. Your tutor will be happy to discuss any of the differences, so they make sense to your day to day work.

SQL is a great first step into a more "technical" career path and will give you the edge in the workplace. Project Managers, Business Analysts, Testers and data scientists can set themselves apart with strong SQL skills. Databases are the fundamental building blocks of every IT system or application as you will always need somewhere to store the data the system processes or reports. If you need to analyse millions of records of data or do some advanced reporting, then you will need SQL as Excel will not be able to cope.

No, there is no formal exam on the course. You will complete numerous exercises in class with the help of your tutor, but there is no formal test at the end.
